Nothing Compares 2 U – Capital Cities

Capital Cities covers the classic Sinead O’connor jam. I love everything these guys have put out since “Safe and Sound” drew me in. If you haven’t heard that song, it’s a necessary grab. Can’t wait for more original stuff, but this will hold me over for now.

Capital Cities was actually founded from a craigslist ad, bringing together Ryan Merchant and Sebu Simonian. Though it seems like a band formed through an internet partnership would be doomed from the start, Capital Cities actually flourished with their lead single “Safe and Sound” which hit #1 on South American radio, fueling two tours through the continent. They are touring the North East now for very affordable ticket prices so if you’re a fan I would go and see their awesome five-piece live set.
